Nephrological department
The nephrological department was organized on December 16, 1983 and was intended to provide specialized medical care to residents of the Irkutsk region.
Currently, the department is treated not only by residents of the Irkutsk region, but also by other regions of the Russian Federation. The nephrological department provides medical care to patients with various nephrologic diseases and chronic renal failure.
Since its inception, the department is the base of the Department of Hospital Therapy of the Irkutsk State Medical University (head of the department Prof. Orlov GM), where students, interns, residents, nephrologists of Irkutsk region, Republic of Buryatia are trained.
The basic medical-diagnostic technologies in the department:
- differential diagnostics and immunosuppressive therapy of chronic glomerulonephritis;
- treatment of "resistant" forms of glomerulonephritis according to standards accepted in the world practice, including protocols of intensive immunosuppression;
- treatment of primary and secondary antiphospholipid syndrome;
- treatment of systemic connective tissue diseases with kidney damage (systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic vasculitis);
- treatment of secondary nephropathies
- nephroprotective therapy;
- treatment of nephrogenic anemia, violations of phosphorus-calcium metabolism in patients at the pre-dialysis stage of chronic renal failure;
- management of patients after kidney transplantation in the early and distant period;
- Treatment of pathology of the transplanted kidney;
- immunological studies for the diagnosis of secondary nephropathies (immunoglobulins, CIC, complement, a-body to BMP, P-ANCA, C-ANCA, a-body to 2-helical DNA, antinuclear factor, LE cells, cryocrit, a-bodies to phospholipids IgG, IgM, lupus anticoagulant, immunofixation of plasma and urine proteins);
- laboratory diagnostics of nephrogenic anemia (erythrocyte indices, reticulocytes, serum iron, ferritin, transferrin, folic acid, vitamin B 12, CRP), disorders of phosphate-calcium metabolism (parathyroid hormone, phosphorus, calcium);
- infectious monitoring of viral infections (ELISA, PCR): viral hepatitis B, viral hepatitis C, Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes I, II, VI, types;
- monitoring the concentration of drugs in the blood serum: cyclosporin A (ELISA, RIA), tacrolimus (PROGRAM, ELISA), everolimus (sertikan);
- Ultrasound examination (native kidney, renal transplant), ultrasound of kidney vessels;
- radionuclide research methods (scintigraphy of native kidneys, renal transplant, parathyroid glands);
- radiation diagnosis (multispiral computed tomography, angiographic studies: abdominal aortography, selective renal angiography);
- nephobiopsia; research of nephrobioptate using light-optical, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy
